Abstract:
The importance of adequately designing the activities within the subjects or training units are vital for the understanding of the fundamental concepts in the integral academic formation of the students. That is why, over time, different dynamics have been developed to motivate students in their learning process so that they understand the importance of this knowledge and can connect it with the work environment so that they can finally apply it in their lives, and that with this they can make contributions for improvement by solving problems that benefit society.
Currently, technological tools are a great ally as they can be used in online and offline classrooms with which students can have an experiential experience through the use of simulators, technological applications and virtual laboratories.
A study was carried out on students of the Design of cyber-physical systems subject, which contains the development of a proposed solution to a problem where they must improve productivity through the adequate design of the work station considering the human being as important factor, taking into account ergonomics, anthropometry, environmental conditions and safety at work. For this, technological platforms such as Jack Simulation, e factory, Plant simulation of Siemens as well as postural analysis and manual loading with the software of the Polytechnic University of Valencia are used.
The students generated the proposal by virtually simulating the workstation analyzing the movements of the worker developing the task, reviewing the results and making adjustments and improvements with these simulators.
It has been shown that the use of these simulators has allowed a better understanding of these important industrial engineering topics as they said in a survey: around 80% appreciated the use of these technological tools in their learning process. Keywords:
