Abstract:
Nowadays it is a great demand to establish a cooperation between Higher Education (HE) and industry, especially in technical education. IT is a rapidly developing field of science, new technologies and tools are being created and used in industry. The changes in HE curriculum do not happen so quickly as the IT labour market requires. One of the solutions of this problem is to strengthen university-IT industry cooperation. It can be treated as an extension of HE. This kind of education practice trends and issues can concern e.g.: trainings, internships and lectures run by the IT industry practitioners. Such events extend skills needed of labour for IT students. Moreover it support IT students in their education.
This paper describes the challenges between employers and Lublin University of Technology, especially concerning internships and lectures run by the IT industry practitioners from Poland and abroad. The advantages for IT students are presented. Additionally, the assessment of this kind of activity both by students and IT industries are discussed. Keywords:
