Abstract:
The academic year 2020/21 began at the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra, in Slovakia normally, by full-time education. However, after two weeks, students and teachers were forced to stay at home due to the worse epidemiological situation and they switched to online education. The university uses the Meet video conferencing system and the Moodle platform for online education, in which students have courses for some subjects. The university has provided several tools to ensure that students' online education is of high quality. Students can also use e-learning courses, which are created in the Moodle environment, during full-time education. However, the online education system is different from full-time teaching. It requires students to provide technical support, time management skills as well as other skills. The aim of the research is to determine the readiness of students for online education. A questionnaire for 5 dimensions is used as a tool to find out students' opinions: Self-Competence, Perceived usefulness, Self-directed learning, Motivation and Financial. The article discusses the results obtained from the questionnaire that was distributed to students of technical departments at University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra.
