Abstract:
The Department of Technology and Information Technologies of the Pedagogical Faculty of UKF in Nitra prepares students for the measurement of various quantities within the bachelor's study. Students should learn the basics of working with various measuring instruments, master the process of measuring selected quantities and evaluate the measurement results. This knowledge is part of the subject Basics of Metrology. In order for the measurement of quantities to be carried out by the correct procedures and in accordance with the legislation, thorough preparation of students for the measurement is necessary. This training is usually carried out using instructions prepared by teachers and students' self-study. However, there is not always enough literature and relevant technical standards available to students. For this reason, we decided to use an e-learning course to prepare students. Our decision was further accelerated by the coronavirus pandemic, which "left" students at home and studying online. The course has actually become a necessity. In this article, we compare the study results of 45 students in the subject Basics of Metrology who were educated by an e-learning course with the results of students who were educated in full-time form. Although the course does not yet have a final form, the results show that there is no significant difference between these groups in their evaluation at the end of the semester.
