Abstract:
Curricula of the University of Applied Sciences should reflect contemporary requirements of the industry, without to losing the claim of universality as the central perspective of the tertiary education. This idea is much known, but in the reality the coordination of the teaching contents to the industrial requirements often does not work efficiently enough. Main reason for it are the dynamism of the industrial changes and technological development on the one hand, which can’t be reached at the university side, because of the lack of financial means to invest permanently in new technologies and machines and lack of possibility to educate in the university lecturers or instructors who have to transfer the new knowledge to the students. In this paper it is presented one solution for this problem. Presented will be the collaboration of one much known industrial company working in the domain of development of Electro-CAD software applications and the University of Applied Sciences from Cologne, Germany. Special insights are given to the success factors of such, more as 8 years existing collaboration, which have resulted in the development of the certification program called EPLAN Certified Student (ECS).
