Abstract:
The establishment of the European Higher Education Area by 2010, which was initiated in Bologna Declaration in 1999, and nowadays is assumed by 46 countries, supposes a noteworthy curricular reform in Europe. It aims to improve the quality and effectiveness of education and training systems, facilitate the access to education and training systems to all citizens, and also to open up EU education and training systems to the wider world. As a result, the European higher education, which will be composed of three cycles (bachelor-master-doctorate), will be more compatible and comparable, and also more competitive and more attractive for Europeans and for students and scholars from other continents. To achieve these so ambitious objectives, the educational systems in all European countries, which now are in the process of reforming, build the students learning in the acquisition and development of comparable professional competences. So, competences have been become in the reference points for curriculum design and evaluation. One of those competences, without any doubt, is teamwork. The aim of this paper is twofold: 1) to analyze the importance of knowing how to work in different types of teams as a key tool to guarantee and improve the professionals’ employability and 2) to expose the results of two educational experiences, carried out among university students, where the development of teamwork competence was part of the educational objectives.
