Abstract:
Mathematics teaching in higher education has been faced with permanent challenges. In different courses it is observed that students show gaps and difficulties in learning mathematics. To solve this problem several approaches have been implemented, such as: additional tutoring, gamification, etc. This research work intends to create and evaluate a new automatic tutoring tool supported by Artificial Intelligence to guide and improve students' academic results and to serve as an aid to the teacher. The proposed solution plans to keep track of the learning progress of each student and optimise the process with the support of an intelligent learning software agent. Starting from pedagogical support materials (videos, resolution examples and learning evaluation tests), student progress will be monitored and individual strategies will be recommended for each one according to their learning curve. Also, the analytical data collected will be shared with lecturers to optimise their teaching methodologies. It should be noted that an international University Consortium is being set up for the development and validation of this new approach.
