Abstract:
The pandemic was an important lever that winged the digital tools on Lecturing in general. The new era has the immense challenge of reaching a new profile of students. The new generation is extremely bracketed to new technology and all-time connectivity. A panoply of new learning platforms and new technologies are quickly merging into the academic environment. Problems such as security and virtual assisted lecturing are one path. This article promotes a state-of-the-art literature review and a relevant discussion of the real impact the support of a Chatbot - as a virtual assistant available all the time to provide a better student support. On the other hand, the introduction of a new tool raises new cybersecurity challenges. It was considered relevant in this study if the cybersecurity practices of the students suffered a positive push after the pandemics or not. Two focus groups were conducted in a Portuguese University to understand the impact of COVID19 in the cybersecurity practices and the predisposition for the adoption of the new tool: Chatbot. Analysis conducted using WebQDA software showed a positive understanding by the students of the use possibilities of the Chatbot as a resource on education, along with possible limitations of this learning resource.
