Abstract:
Since the creation of Twitter in 2006, it became the biggest and most popular way of microblogging. Twitter has nowadays strong potential to enhance learning, providing outlets to improve the communication between students and teachers. In order to succeed in it, we recommend educators to prepare their students for social media and e-communication, so as to be ready for the current, real world. The purpose of this study was to examine the responses in their learning process and motivation of High Education students after a 4-month experience using Twitter as an educational tool. The conclusions we drew were all relative to the uses and knowledge of Twitter and social networks, and its connection with education. Due to their high average scores, we can say the current undergraduates are very skilled or even experts on new technologies. They rely on Twitter to connect people and information by sharing links, and appreciate the immediacy it provides them. They do not consider Twitter the best way to learn, because they do not want Moodle or email and the traditional evaluations to be replaced by it.
