Abstract:
The “Basic Mechanical Installations” course for the Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of La Rioja aims for students to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to calculate and design the different basic mechanical installations that may be present in the industrial and/or building environment. Students must learn to calculate and design heating, air conditioning, thermal solar and photovoltaic solar systems, among others. These facilities in the building sector require that students know, master and be able to apply the information in the new Basic Document on Energy Saving of the Technical Building Code (CTE-DB-HE).
To achieve these objectives, a series of innovative activities has been developed to enable students to carry out a complete guided professional project. This project is carried out through supervised work divided into blocks, is accompanied by follow-up interviews and ends with a presentation and defence. In this way, the work developed in through innovative teaching in the “Fundamentals of Thermal Engineering” and “Thermal Machines and Engines” courses for the same Degree is continued in order to facilitate the transition from the university to the professional world of future graduates dedicated to the energy and building sectors. Keywords:
