Abstract:

We present a system to generate exercises that allow to obtain in a quickly way set of exercises for the students. It is possible to produce different sets for every student in such a way that we stimulate the students to work in groups but at the same time every one has to prepare his own work. We show our experience with these kind of systems and we offer ideas about how to structure a course by means of these new methods. The new perspective that offers our system allows to introduce innovations in several fields: evaluation, academic activities, control of the activity of the students.

Our project is structured in several modules:
- A language to create algorithms for new exercises. We have developed a language which is independent of the idiom in such a way that it can be uses in different countries.
- A module to create set of exercises and activities. The professor can design these sets and activities including the exercises that he considers more interesting for every subject.
- A module to program and offer the activities to the students. It is possible to offer the activities following a program based on a calendar that the professor can create for every course.
- A module for the evaluation. The system can also evaluate the students offering a web based application for this purpose.
