Abstract:
In all mathematical fields the use of LaTeX system is widely accepted as the standard text processor to produce high quality printed materials. It is easy to visit the web site of a department of mathematics of any university to realize that the amount of available LaTeX materials is huge. We have developed an on-line application that allows the students to configure their own books on the base of the LaTeX materials offered by the professor. They can configure in this way their own books, inserting the part of the materials that they found more interesting. The resulting book is presented as a high quality LaTeX generated pdf that can be used on-line or by means of a hard copy.

The professor can insert the materials that the students will be able to collect to create their own books. He can propose a basic structure for the book from which more items can be added. To prepare the materials we provide a set of LaTeX classes and macros that make possible to create such a structure and to divide the materials in logic units. The professor only needs to insert marks in the LaTeX file to indicate these units and their description and usage conditions. From these marks the application will create a web interface that shows to the students the available units and that allows them to decide which ones to insert or not in their own book.
