Abstract:
During a long period of time an important cooperation has arisen between multiple agents represented by the model of the triple helix: the University, the Company and the Government. In this sense, the relationship between the three actors mentioned is very significant. They help to generate new knowledge, to transfer technology, to create incubators of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and to develop the so-called spin-off.

The Triple Helix model, which we will refer to in this research, proposes a new paradigm for an absolutely essential actor like the University. From this perspective, the concept of the so-called Entrepreneurial University has been implemented. In fact, this has supposed a remarkable progress of socio-economic character, development and registry of patents, as well as of activities related to the spin-off. The spin-off companies that emerge from universities help to transfer knowledge and scientific research to the business world, and they also improve the communication between universities, the market and the society.

In recent years, aspects such as technological change and business cooperation with university centers have taken relevance. Indeed, the competitiveness in the field of business, as well as the imperative need to take into consideration coalitions of companies, determines a new projection of the figure of the University with respect to the research and the development of a certain State.
