Abstract:
Introduction:
The acquisition of knowledge in the field of Oncology requires adequate and regulated formation to avoid heterogeneity in teaching training.

Objectives:
To develop a platform able to display a uniform quality teaching and research staff in Oncology.

Method:
S31 is a tool based on structured fields in which professionals are choosing through a predetermined list (checklist) the differents items (end-points) of each subject such that all variables can be then analyzed statistically. Thus, specific skills and competencies are acquired, avoiding subjectivity in data collection. This platform is in a repository accessible by other professionals.

Results:
The application of this tool has been carried out for 3 types of professionals (oncologists, Health engineers and telecommunications engineers). The S31 project has a homogeneous collection of 300 lung cancer patients in response to demographic factors, genetic variability, quality of life and treatment toxicity. After analyzing the data we have obtained a new knowledge of predicting local recurrence in patients with a specific genetic mutation in the TGF gene.

Conclusions:
S31 is a useful and high quality support to health education tool in the field of clinical research. Application of S31 to adapt the data collection process to the needs of the researcher creates a suitable framework for achieving optimum subsequent analysis. It gives users a close tutoring by the principal investigator.
