Abstract:
Introduction:
The acquisition of knowledge in the field of oncology requires proper and formal training to avoid heterogeneity in teaching.

Objectives:
To develop a platform capable of displaying a uniform quality teaching and research staff in oncology.

Method:
S31 is a tool based on structured fields in which professionals are choosing through a predetermined list (checklist) the various items (end-points) to study each subject so that all variables can be then analyzed statistically. Thus avoiding specific skills and competencies subjectivity in data collection are acquired. This platform is in an accessible repository for other professionals.

Results:
The application of this tool has been carried out by three types of professionals (Oncologists, Health Informatics and IT professionals) S31. The project has a homogeneous collection of 136 lung cancer patients in response to demographic factors, genetic variability, quality of life and treatment toxicity. After analyzing the data we have obtained a new knowledge of predicting local recurrence in patients with a specific genetic mutation in the TFG gene.

Conclusions:
S31 is a useful and high quality support to health education in the field of clinical research tool. Application of S31 to adapt the data collection process to the needs of the researcher, allowing you to create a suitable framework for a post-optimal analysis. It allows for a close tutoring by the principal investigator.
