Abstract:
The objective of this study is to present the training components necessary for the successful implementation of Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education, for both faculty and students across all specializations of the Master’s Degree in Teaching for Secondary Education, (MUPES) at the University of Salamanca.
At the Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence, held under the auspices of UNESCO, it was recognized that the rapid rise of artificial intelligence (AI) has created new opportunities on a global scale. However, these rapid changes also raise profound ethical dilemmas, stemming from the potential of AI-based systems to reproduce biases, contribute to climate degradation, and threaten human rights, among other issues. Achieving the proper implementation of AI in education is one of the most significant challenges of our time, and it requires mutual learning based on lessons learned and best practices.
The objective of this AI training at MUPES is to provide an interdisciplinary resource for academics and students to find solutions to the challenges posed by artificial intelligence. We set out to design and develop a micro-credential course titled: “Interdisciplinary Training in AI at MUPES.”
This course will be innovative and will incorporate multidisciplinary technological, communicative, legal, and ethical aspects of artificial intelligence, prioritizing interdisciplinarity and collaboration among the various specializations of the Master’s program, so that anyone taking the course acquires the knowledge, skills, and motivation necessary to understand, address, and implement AI-related solutions in the classroom. The impact of the Micro-credential will be analyzed using opinion surveys as a teaching evaluation tool developed based on the Student Evaluation of Educational Quality (SEEQ) model.
The course code is 6706/2026/1. Secondary school teachers, university professors, and Master's students can register via the following link: https://vaporetto.usal.es/preactform/detalleCurso?codigo_curso=6706&ano_academico=2026&convocatoria=1. Keywords:
