Abstract:
In a world where resources are becoming scarcer, education is our most important commodity. We learn, discover, explore and share our knowledge. We all contribute to the overall knowledge of our society. Our forms of education are changing. Cross-curricular learning content is becoming more and more important. Prepared in this way, the learners can start better in the digital world of work. In addition to specialist content also collaboration, communication, creativity critical thinking and confidence are becoming increasingly important. The processes of reorganizing educational, scientific and research landscapes are noticeable. It is important to design concepts and corresponding infrastructures, as well as corresponding spaces that help to create innovations. – Future Innovation Spaces: Innovation spaces for the small and large innovators of tomorrow.
Learners and teachers design their rooms together and the concept of learning spaces focuses on the didactic design of the places and environments of learning with which and in which learners and teachers deal together. At the same time, the concept of design is linked to the idea of education, namely the reflective and active connection of subjects with the world. Different types of learners require different learning environments in order to develop their skills and abilities. Learners' methods, learning paths or strategies change with the media, which means that pedagogical interventions must be adapted. In particular, the question is whether and how the tools that are combined in learning spaces promote or enable reflective and cooperative processes of constructing knowledge or gaining insights.
This article deals with the most important trend developments in the educational landscape and show how rooms in schools, universities and research institutions can be designed according to the approaches of "New Education" in order to promote pedagogical concepts e.g., with the support of suitable media technology. Keywords:
