Abstract:
The European Area of Higher Education has carried out in a deep review of the teaching-learning process in the Spanish University system. The aim is to achieve the creation of meaningful knowledge. Students have to understand the meanings and the relationships between the contents of academic subjects by interpreting them according to prior knowledge. Therefore, the design of activities of knowledge consolidation is crucial to allow a greater autonomy of the students in the management of their own learning. Hence, our educational proposal presents knowledge consolidation activities which focus on the application of the Quantitative Methods course to the analysis of the main flows of the World Economics discipline in the Economics Degree. As a didactic resource, we use the New Technologies of the Information and Communication (NTIC) whose domain is essential for the future employment possibilities of the students. NTIC facilitate, in addition to interactivity, the continuous evaluation of university students as they give an immediate feedback on developments of the teaching-learning process. The sources of information we use allow the application of this proposal to bilingual teaching.
