Abstract:
The UPV Transversal Competence Institutional Project was formally established in the 2015/16 academic year. This project required the incorporation of 13 transversal competences into all master and bachelor’s degrees. Among them, the fourth is Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship. In developing this competence it is expected that students will be able to innovate to effectively respond to personal, organizational and social needs with an entrepreneurial attitude.

At present, this competence is developed at UPV in two ways. On the one hand, lecturers at the different schools, within the programme of their subjects carry out learning activities and experiences that aim to achieve certain learning outcomes related to Innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship. On the other hand, the UPV has other resources avaible to students: the Spontaneous Generation Programme which supports and monitors their innovative activities, and IDEAS UPV, the unit for Business Creation and Development. Through their technitians, these centres develop their own extracurricular experiences and actions that also impact students’ learning outcomes. However, up until now, there does not seem to be much connection between both ways.

Given this context, this paper describes in detail the contents of an Educational Improvement Plan that has been devised with the final goal of improving students’ learning outcomes of the Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship transversal competence. Its purpose is to design new learning activities by means of bringing together all UPV resources so that by working together they take advantage of potential sinergies: the School centres with their teaching staff, the Spontaneous Generation Programme and Ideas UPV.

The project has a comprehensive approach involving all UPV centres. It will be carried out by a team of diverse UPV participants in terms of position in the organization and academic discipline. It will hopefully increase students’ interest and participation in activities that lead to the generation of innovations and the creation of new business ideas, as well as to stimulate entrepreneurial activity.

The paper will identify specific objectives of the project, it will describe the working plan with the different stages, the work schedule and the follow-up measures.
