Abstract:
School graduates, together with young applicants, the long-term unemployed, persons over 50 years of age, persons after maternity leave, people with disabilities, people with no qualifications or low qualifications belong to problematic groups in the labour market. The main reason why some university graduates find it harder to find work in the labour market is related to the structure of their education, which does not correspond to the requirements of the labour market. Therefore, the choice of a field of study can play a key role for the graduate's future career. Also, the state is interested in supporting study fields with a higher potential in the labour market. The aim of the paper is to compare the college graduates of Pilsen Region according to the studied field and the type of school. Also, attention was paid to the fact whether graduates are working in the field of study. The article is based on the results of the research examining the employability of graduates in the Pilsen Region in the Czech Republic. The target group of research was made up of graduates who finished their bachelor study program in the period 2012-2016 and live in the Pilsen Region. This sample includes 272 respondents from different study fields at colleges.
