Abstract:

In order to cultivate international students and talents in civil engineering, reform exploration and practice on civil engineering course system, teaching plans, teaching contents, teaching methods and teaching materials are taken based on both Eurocodes and Chinese codes. Especially structural Eurocodes as important part has been introduced in the Civil Engineering Subject’ teaching program of Shanghai Normal University in China. Through strengthening international cooperation and introducing of high-quality education resources in UK and Eurocodes in civil engineering teaching, all these have obtained meaningful achievements. As a result, internationalization of students is improved significantly, at the same time, students accepted by the world-class universities for their master’s degree increase obviously. This research puts forward a creative scheme to cultivate the internationalized talents in civil engineering who have the international horizon, good knowledge of international rules and competence of participating international affairs and competitions. In this paper, a new way is shown to promote the international reform of curriculum system and training system in civil engineering in Chinese universities.
