Abstract:
In the framework of the EHEA, one of the main objectives is the assessment of student learning. In this sense, this paper tries to assess students learning of subject Business Administration, part of the Degree on Business Studies from the University of Valencia. This degree, soon to be extinct, incorporated in the last academic year some teaching-learning techniques specific of the EHEA (eg. teamwork), as a step toward adapting the degree to the new higher education arena.
The aim of this paper is to assess students’ learning 2009-2010 academic year. To that end, we use two different but complementary evaluation measures. On the one hand, we use objective data, obtained from test scores after conducting various tests objective assessment of knowledge of the subject (test, group work, class participation, etc.). On the other hand, we analyze data of a subjective nature, obtained through a survey carried out with a sample of students on various aspects of learning.
The results of the study showed that the incorporation of new learning-teaching techniques, characteristic of the new EHEA, generates a positive students’ learning. However, the assessment of learning depends on the measure analyzed. While the subjective assessment has high rates of assessment, objective assessment of learning reduces the rates substantially. Therefore, we conclude that these new teaching-learning techniques must be improved before the Degree adaptation to the EHEA framework. Keywords:
