Abstract:
Engineering Ethics is a compulsory and important subject in many engineering programs. This study investigates the effectiveness of ethics lessons on various ethical issues on the ethical perceptions of a group of 68 Asian engineering undergraduate students coming from Singapore, Malaysia, China, India, Vietnam & Indonesia and some exchange students from other universities.

Statistical tests conducted indicate that the students found that the ethics course contributed to their understanding of professional ethics and awareness of moral responsibility to society. Further statistical tests also show that the students are able to analyse, distinguish and evaluate correctly ethical and non-ethical issues.
