Abstract:
There is a range of approaches to remote online invigilation ranging from automated candidate identification and recording, to sophisticated synchronous remote invigilation protocols. Each has different implications, both academic and practical, for a given test and as such it is of interest to understand how experienced practitioners view which approaches are suited to different e-assessment contexts. In this paper, the perspectives of a group of Computer Science practitioners on factors that can be used to select the most appropriate invigilation approach for different types of e-assessment activities, taking into consideration assessment types and costs, are presented.
