Abstract:
The purpose of the research is to determine the features of using the pedagogical technology of creating a portfolio in the electronic form as a means of training to improve the professional literacy of the university students.

The objectives of the research are to analyze the components of the electronic portfolio of students and compare them with the stages of implementation of the pedagogical technology for creating a students’ portfolio. The solution of the research tasks is based on the criterion of improving the professional literacy of the university students and evaluating their achievements using e-portfolio technology.

The research methodology consists in conducting a content, comparative and qualitative analysis of the electronic portfolio of the university students to identify the features of its pedagogical potential in relation to the development of professional literacy of the students. The study was conducted with the participation of 1038 students and 23 teachers were involved as experts in assessing the level of professional literacy of students and its correlation with the process of implementing an electronic portfolio using technological stages of pedagogical support and support for the formation of a student portfolio. We also used personalized and competency-based approaches to evaluating research results. In the course of the study, we used a questionnaire and survey of experimental participants, a retrospective analysis of students' work under the guidance of a teacher on the process of portfolio formation, and a synchronous analysis of the process of professional literacy development. A qualitative and quantitative assessment of professional literacy was carried out on the basis of developed questionnaires, as well as the features of the relationship between the electronic portfolio and the professional competence of students, the dynamics of their synchronous development. To systematize the results of using the e-portfolio as a means of improving the professional literacy of the university students and assessing the level of formation of their competencies, modeling of the pedagogical process using the e-portfolio was carried out.

As a result of the research, the features of using the pedagogical technology of creating a portfolio in electronic form as a means of training to improve the professional literacy of the university students were revealed. With the help of the conducted research, a pedagogical model of an electronic portfolio was created, its components, their content and connections between them were determined. The use of the developed theoretical model in the pedagogical process allowed us to formalize and systematize purposeful work for improving the professional literacy of students using an electronic portfolio as a means of forming and evaluating the professional competence of students.
