Abstract:
More promising in the means of enhancing productivity of engineering technical education become the mechanisms of integration of engineering education and fundamental science and industry. To tackle the problem of forming technical university students` preparedness for future profession in studying the fundamental courses it is necessary to design the pedagogical model and formulate pedagogical conditions that would provide its realization with implementation of IT-technologies. Within the frame work of our research high importance is given to the above stated issue within the context of organizational and procedural aspect. The model of forming the technical university students` preparedness to professional activity was introduced by us with the three developed units: goal-setting unit; theory and methodology unit; organization and activity unit which embodies the stages: preparatory (interactive entry testing, selection of profession oriented teaching material), formative (transition of learning activity of tackling tasks in physics into individual project work, development of project tasks, forming of groups, introducing the experience of fulfilling professional oriented projects), and final (presentation of complex projects and their evaluation); and evaluation unit which enables to evaluate the level of students` preparedness to future profession according to the following indicators: level of theoretical material acquisition; level of professional oriented project skills development; skill to choose the means and methods of solving the problems; teamwork skill; degree of motivation to professional activity. Upon experiential teaching on thermal imagining control in power industry in the university course of general physics three participants groups: a teacher of physics, teachers of major disciplines, students are encompassed in teaching process. The corresponding to the above mentioned skills` measurements were held with their results discussed in the article. The findings enable us to conclude about the model effectiveness in teaching fundamental science through practical course via IT-technologies.
