Abstract:
As mentioned by many researchers, the use of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) in L2 language classrooms stimulates interest, enhances reactivity, fosters a sense of personal worth, permits rich learning experiences for all students and strengthens communication skills (Cameron 1999, Chapelle and Jamieson 2008, among others).
In this presentation, we would like to show how the CAN-8 Virtual lab software (interactive, multimedia learning facility with the ability to teach and test languages) can be used not only for teaching second/foreign language, but also for research purposes. In the first part, we will demonstrate the integration of a L2 pronunciation class in this platform which includes monitoring, evaluation and oral feedback to students. In the second part, we will show you how this technology can be helpful in conducting research, offering all the necessary tools for pre-tests and post-tests in the experiments (recording, multiple-choice questions, etc). Keywords:
