Abstract:
The article is devoted to the problem of increasing the efficiency of learning a foreign language in a non-linguistics university. Recently students at non-linguistics institutions for higher education are to acquire the foreign language communicative competence for a comparatively short period of time which requires the most motivated students and the most efficient teaching. The authors take a new approach to teaching in order to provide students with sustainable motivation and improve their academic performance.

Physical activity is regarded by specialists as an instrument to create a special atmosphere in the English learning classroom to decrease the level of foreign language anxiety while increasing internal and external learning motivation of the students. Kinesiological physical exercises are brain gymnastics which enhances the internal reserves of students by speeding up the process of creating new neural connections. The combination of physical exercises and a foreign language vocational training is an innovative approach to the formation of motivating situations in the classroom and a reliable way to higher concentration and a better long and short term recall. The article considers the possibility of including the above-mentioned technology in the learning process and provides preliminary results of experiential learning.

To verify such an opportunity the authors of the article used experimental studies of the control and experimental groups of undergraduate students of the 3rd year in Public Relations. The results of the experimental studies showed an increase of 40–50% in the efficiency of the foreign language acquisition by the experimental group compared with students in the control group.

Thus, the authors of the article have come to the conclusion that the use of physical exercises in the classroom in a non-linguistics university is a promising direction for increasing educational motivation and efficiency of the foreign language acquisition.
