Abstract:
Russia is a country with the swiftly developing market which welcomes any country in the world. But Russian economy needs to break some negative stereotypes and prejudices to attract foreign capital.
Can future PR specialists figure out how to explain mysterious Russian soul to the world’s merchants to foster friendly trade relations?
How can university teachers improve the efficiency of English language for specific purposes acquisition by their students exploiting the Russian code theme?
The paper engages these questions by describing and analyzing an educational role-play simulation design organized around Russian culture code investigation. This interdisciplinary approach to the formation of the communicative skills of graduates of higher educational institutions not only allows to provide for the professional orientation of training in English for future specialists in Public Relations in a form of simulation but highlights the insufficiently researched but relevant issue. The findings show that this approach provides the students in PR with the opportunity both to investigate the depth of modern Russian attitudes towards different goods and services on the market and to master their skills in academic English. Pedagogical recommendations for future development of the role-play are discussed. Keywords:
