Abstract:
Hearing impairment continues to be a communication gap, it is necessary to empathize with people who have different abilities to attend to their learning and avoid social marginalization. By the end of 2022, Microsoft Teams will integrate inclusive tools, allowing accessibility to users with disabilities.

This experience is related to the sign language interpreter through meetings in Microsoft Teams as a scenario to transmit knowledge, being a unified communication platform, it allows you to take advantage of tools such as: video, audio and subtitle transmission, generating communication and learning in an inclusive way.

The question that arises is: Will it be an inclusive learning strategy to implement the Microsoft Teams sign language interpreter to convey knowledge to people with hearing impairments? In the Digital Literacy course, a team of university students demonstrated through a virtual meeting the inclusion of the sign language interpreter, generating awareness in their classmates of hearing impairment and the importance of integrating these tools into school and social activities.

Include people with hearing impairments in virtual academic events to convey knowledge; Raising awareness among university students about the use of inclusive technological tools and demonstrating to people with hearing disabilities that through the use of technological tools they can acquire digital skills, are the objectives set out in this research.

In future work, on-demand continuing education courses could be designed that integrate sign language interpreters to train people with disabilities in areas of knowledge that are convenient and useful for them to acquire skills.

It is necessary to take advantage of these tools so as not to leave anyone behind, as indicated by the United Nations 2030 Agenda, which allows students to generate a culture of inclusion to recognize in people with different abilities the skills they can develop if learning environments are generated that allow them to integrate into society.
