Abstract:
Integrate a technological tool that supports the modality, known today as multimodal education, teaching practice provides Eminus institutional educational platform developed by the Universidad Veracruzana, as an integral element of services and spaces for knowledge-sharing, provided to students and teachers.
Its name refers to the latin "at a distance", developed in 2003 by the technological innovation Department attached to the management of development informatics support academic of the Directorate General of technology information. Initially supported only 800 users by school period, the evolution of the platform genre later versions like: Eminus 2.0 that supported 1500 users, for version 2.2 of Eminus, users increased to 10,000 approximately; Subsequently, Eminus 2.4 included more features and was enriched by the collaboration of teachers, and the use of 19,800 students per period and the academic staff was of a 1,100.
Currently Eminus evolves to version 3 to adapt to the new academic requirements leverages existing technologies and the increased use of mobile devices.
The new version is designed to meet the demand of users that today work in Eminus, 25,000 students and a 1,300 academics, as well as providing support for multiple devices with a clear, intuitive and rich interface.
Use Eminus as a fully electronic notebook, allows a cultural change, generating awareness of ecological, economic and sustainable at the same time that develop skills of self-learning and use of virtual educational platforms. That integrates tools more friendly interaction with users. The materials which are stored in the platform can occur in various digital formats. The Organization of the contents by the facilitators is reflected more flexible, versions prior to this had stiffness in his design.
The evolution of information technology has led its developers to adapt to Eminus mobility, allowing its interface adapts to tablets and smartphones, making optimal use and the hand.
The new version of this platform has generated in the academic interest in their use, integration and application in their teaching practice, they reflect that there is still a resistance to change to the digital age and web 2.0. But Eminus is recognized in the new version, as a tool that will better organize their teaching work. Training in the tool fostering in them the use of technology and are aware of why exploit this resource provided by the institution.Keywords:
