Abstract:
The existing public goal of lifelong learning content is to increase or change the learner's qualifications by the requirements of the labor market, the learner's interests and needs, however, today's sustainability challenges reflect that the lifelong learning process should focus more not only on competencies, but it is necessary to focus on all actions which are based on three sustainability pillars: economic, environmental, society. Integrating the complex dimensions of the well-being ecosystem in the process of lifelong learning would ensure sustainable development goal achievement. The knowledge about well-being activities would ensure an orderly physical work environment, environmental protection, the employee's intellectual growth, physical, mental, and emotional health, as well as financial well-being. Increasing employee well-being indicators would result in higher employee performance, knowledge about environmental issues would provide benefits for ecological issues and knowledge about physical, mental, and emotional health would promote social justice.
There is also a lack of research that reflects how the opportunities provided by lifelong learning contribute to the achievement of environmental sustainability goals. Well-being is a complex network of many dimensions, so it is important to create an ecosystem where mutual interaction between business and educational activities ensured, which leads to an increase in employee well-being indicators that contribute to the achievement of global sustainability goals.
The purpose of the article is to provide a systematic description of the literature on employee well-being, as well as to describe the role of lifelong learning in creating an ecosystem of employee well-being and achieving sustainability goals. A quantitative cross-sectional study was carried out, collecting the well-being indicators of the citizens of the EU member states, comparing them with lifelong learning and sustainability indicators, thus reflecting the existing support from lifelong learning to well-being of employees and sustainability goals achievement. Collected good practice examples from EU Member States, highlighting approaches that improve well-being ecosystems, which are based on the opportunities provided by lifelong learning. In addition, the collected information on the content of lifelong learning forms to identify the relationship between lifelong learning, ensuring the well-being of employees, as well as achieving the goals of sustainable development. At the end of the research, a new well-being ecosystem model for employee is developed, where the lifelong learning is one of the important forming networks, as well provides the recommendations for improving the content of lifelong learning in accordance with the achievement of sustainable development goals.
