Abstract:
Nowadays the term quality is used in all the scopes in modern life and it appears in a very important form in public universities referring to external evaluations and accreditations. In the Faculty of Superior Studies of Cuautitlan one of the most important tasks of the present administration is to accredit the majors given and to certify the teaching laboratories, that is why the Certification Department was created, to coordinate the activities of the Quality Management System (QMS) of the whole dependence and a Reviser Committee that develops directive and executive activities. The present work consists in the certification of the Inorganic Chemistry laboratories that began in March 2007 defining objectives, mission, vision and quality policies, we also developed a Quality Management Manual, internal laboratory procedures and we have updated the manuals of practices, the normative general procedures as well as the specific ones and a web page has been created. Until now, the results have been very significant as the teaching-learning process of the theoretical-practical subjects of the section of Inorganic Chemistry evaluated through the first auditory with the ISO 9001:2000 norm set the laboratories at level 1, which indicates that they are some of the best laboratories in this stage. These results have caused that the students as well as the teachers and the technical staff show interest to keep cooperating with the certification and with this contribute to the improvement in the quality of the theoretical-practical teaching through laboratories.
