Abstract:
The article is focused on the evaluation of teaching the subject Protection of Life and Health at Slovak Secondary Schools. We focused on the practical implementation of this course, which is organized in the form of a course called "Life and Health Protection Course" in accordance with the recommendations of the state educational program ISCED 3. The respondents to the survey were 124 secondary school teachers of various types. Due to the pandemic situation associated with the occurrence of COVID 19 in Slovakia, we conducted the survey with a non-standardized online questionnaire via Google Forms. Respondents described the way the course was organized, the content focus, the form of the course. We analyzed the results of the answers of individual respondents of different types of schools. The course should include 4 thematic areas such as Stay and movement in nature, Medical training, Emergency management, Technical activities and sports. Based on their inclusion in the course, we divided the schools into three groups: correct, sufficient and unsatisfactorily implemented courses. Based on the answers of the respondents at whom the course is implemented, we state that 28.07% of schools organize the course correctly, 22.81% sufficiently and 49.12% organize courses unsatisfactorily. The downside is that up to 15% of secondary schools do not organize courses. The most common form was staying out of school, which is correct.
