Abstract:
The urgency driving the money put into quantum computing today by nation-states and multi-national companies is not being met by the current education system for developing a quantum computing workforce.

This can be addressed by a MOOC, that reduces the investment needed to get involved, and increases the number of knowledge workers who can be introduced to the topic at different educational levels, by reducing the cost of entry. The MOOC model designed here shows that instead of lists of topics that must be studied in sequential order, an oracle function can deliver better results by customizing the individual user's experience to take them from one idea community to another, asking questions, getting answers, upvoting the best responses, leaving behind their best ideas to make it a faster comprehension for the next student entering that community. The oracle can adjust the user's path to fit the needed outcome.

Quantum computing is an emergent and integrative science field that currently takes many years of instruction and experience at the post high school level, in order for the student to be a contributor to the field or to exploration of further research or to commercial purposes. The reason for this is that it is a merger of physics, mathematics and computer science. In each of these three basic foundations of knowledge, there is a vast amount of unnecessary concepts which are taught as a part of that classical pedagogy, which must be mastered before being allowed entry to the next level of mastery and comprehension. This is a rule-set that can be improved, as the leading edge of discoveries is moving faster than the entry point of the rate at which we can teach. Those entering the field of Quantum Computing today find that by the time they are at the point of understanding that gets them to that confidence level in which they feel necessary and needed, they feel they are conversant and have mastery, at that point, they are even further behind understanding quantum computing than they were in the beginning.

This oracle-enhanced MOOC can be used for other emergent integrative technologies.
