Abstract:
ENSCONET is a network to coordinate seed conservation activities of wild plants within Europe, which involves different institutions, working jointly on seed preservation for the future.
Study, information, research on seed biology will be supported by the work of the partners through the exchange of experiences, protocols and facilities. All the efforts are headed to optimise seed conservation practices: Collecting, curation, data management and dissemination of all the knowledge.
Dissemination area is led by Jardí Botànic de la Universitat de València. Between the objectives of the dissemination groups stands out the creation of a Internet site with information about the project, biodiversity conservation…it will help to reach a wide audience but not only it is addressed to politics and policy makers also to the general public, especially students, interested in biodiversity conservation.
One of our main aims is the development of a virtual tour as a tool to didactic and dissemination activities in order to show our activities in seed banking for ex situ plant preservation.
We invite you to complete a visit through a virtual European Germplasm Bank in: http://www.ensconet.eu/Tour.htm
