Abstract:
The teaching methods have witnessed many changes during the last years and most of the influence is due to technology which has become indispensable in today’s educational processes. The new generations of students are used to a rapid transfer of information. It becomes crucial to adopt different teaching methodologies and to use technology which represents a powerful tool in education, serving to a diversification of the teaching methods and to a more interactive way of participating at classes and assimilating the topics.

The film industry depends on technological advancements, and including technology also in the learning process at the film universities can help students acquire information in a more versatile way.

Among the techniques I’ve applied with my own students at the sound department where I’m a university lecturer are:
- Games for learning – after teaching various topics, students were invited to complete online quizzes which offered them points and awards, permitting them to compete for a better ranking position. The participation at the quizzes and the results mattered for their final grade
- Video tutorials – used as a didactical method for explaining different theoretical aspects. Students were shown making of-videos, tutorials for various plugins, sound recordings with examples, etc.
- Teamwork – students had to perform various exercises in teams, switching roles. Each of them experienced the role of being a director, an actor, a director of photography or a sound recordist
- Workshops – students were invited to assist at recording sessions in professional studios, learning from professionals in the field and being also able to get a practical approach
- Flipped learning – students had to document themselves about a certain topic and present it in front of the class. The role switching between student and teacher represented an interactive way of assimilating new information, while also familiarizing them with the importance of pedagogy, preparing them for a possible academic career.

I’ve conducted a survey among my students because I wanted to know their opinion about the various teaching methods and which they consider the most effective and appropriate to their needs. The results of the survey will be presented in the final paper.
