Abstract:
Wood as raw material is used for applications in the furniture, building industry, and to produce paper. The majority of Albanian enterprises produce furniture by using wood panels, and about 80 companies work with wood. Only a small number of enterprises produce paper by recycling technology. The majority of environmental pollution comes from the wood finishing processes (spry gun method with solvent based lacquer), wood and wood panels cutting and paper pollution. Because the environmental pollution in wood industry should be, first of all, a concern to wood processing engineers, the wood industry department in the forest science faculty has integrated in the Bachelor teaching program a specific subject titled “Environment protection in wood industry “. This subject gives students a sufficient knowledge about the sources of pollution in the wood industry, the systems used to control water and air pollution, contemporaneous experiences in environment protection etc. Keywords:
Spry gun method, solvent based lacquer, paper pollution, environment protection.
