Abstract:
The incorporation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Engineering subjects presents many difficulties, because the development of skills associated with sustainability needs activities that could be monitored and evaluated. Current study plans contain a very high teaching load that makes difficult to go beyond traditional activities such as lectures, practices and seminars related to the content of the subjects. This means that there is little time to consider the development of transversal skills.

Therefore, it is necessary to use innovative methodologies that allow these skills to be worked out of the classroom, in an online format, in a dynamic and attractive way.

Personal Learning Environment (PLE) is a learning approach, that is considered as the set of resources, tools and people with whom we learn, exchange and share information and experiences [1]. It is considered as a pedagogical idea of how to learn with technology and a suitable methodology to work key competencies such as learning to learn and the digital competence. A PLE is made up of a set of tools for searching, accessing, building, managing, and sharing information and knowledge on a specific topic. This helps the student to share resources with other classmates to carry out collaborative work, enhancing skills related to the use of ICT tools, autonomous learning and collaborative work, in addition to skills related to the work topic [1]. On the other hand, content curation (CC) is a more complete process that, supported by a good PLE, gives meaning to the information and adds value to the content [2].

The objective of this work is to study the SDGs in Engineering subjects using PLE and CC. In this way, digital skills and those related to sustainability and information management will be worked on together.

It is intended that students link the SDGs to the contents of the subjects, but also understand the challenges associated with the SDGs and be able to identify the best policies to address them and propose solutions. To do this, digital tools will be selected for the different stages of content curation (Search, Select, Sense Making and Share) and personal learning environments will be created with the information collected, using the Symbaloo tool [3].
