Abstract:
According to the theory of generations X, Y, Z (Strauss & Howe, 1991) representatives of different generations have different values, priorities and needs because they are influenced by different external factors. According to the report of the ACCA Global Study (Innovators: Generation Z and the Future of Finance, 2021) representatives of Generation Z in Russia prefer the acquisition of new skills (64%), a high level of salary (73%) and rapid career development (42%). Therefore, flexibility and the ability to individualize the educational trajectory in accordance with the changing demands of the labor market are important for today's student. At the same time, universities need to be able to quickly revise educational programs and provide a wide range of variable modules to develop students' required competencies.

Using Ural Federal University as an example, the authors showed how online technologies help create an educational environment where every student can find opportunities for self-realization through building individual educational paths, mastering additional competencies demanded by the market, and minimizing competence gaps.

In the course of the study, the authors considered the educational standards independently established by the university, which contributed to the creation of conditions for increasing flexibility and interdisciplinarity of educational programs in different fields of education. The article describes the best educational practices of including online courses from Russian and foreign universities, educational products of EdTech-companies and business corporations in the educational programs of the university to update the digital content, improve learning efficiency and motivate students in their mastery of educational programs.

Restrictions on the use of external educational resources in various models of online learning based on the current regulatory and legal acts in the field of education were introduced.
