Abstract:
The project raises the design and development of a model about a simulator for education which allows strengthening the process of education learning of the chemical distillation. The raised model is shaped by four principal elements: a graphical stage that contains elements of a laboratory of chemical distillation and that they can be manipulated by the student; a pedagogic (constructivism) and didactic (resolution of problems) model that define the way as the simulator goes to interact with user; like a didactic unit that professor allows to incorporate it into the content of chemical distillation lessons, as a practice on simulator; and a technological platform that offers the necessary stages (record, interaction, storage, evaluation and simulation systems) to support functioning of the simulator on the Web environment. The simulator will allow the users to simulate one of the processes of distillation with the manipulation of five variables (liquid boiling temperature -A- to level of the sea, liquid boiling temperature -B-, the maximum system temperature, the atmospheric pressure and the height) and to obtain the respective results. The simulators will posses a knowledge base and an inference engine. The interactive system will have free software applications for forum, chat and a web blog, which integrated to the simulator, will allow users connect to share experiences, opinions and knowledge on the process of distillation. The storage and diffusion of contents system will rely on a free software application “content manager", which to the users will allow store and publish documents and articles related to the distillation process. The record system will allow simulator store main information about its users and control their profiles (teacher, student, manager). The evaluation system will allow to teachers realize a follow-up of the works that students realize on the simulator. Each one of these systems will be integrated to a web portal, in such a way that the students will be able to enter the simulator from a computer located in any place that has access to Internet.
