Abstract:
It is essential that a university upholds a strong reputation for the integrity of its awards both in the academic and professional arena. To support that reputation the outside world needs to be assured that students work and accomplishments are credible and that policy violations are not tolerated.

It is often a small percentage of faculty members who follow the AI process and report AI violations. Research was undertaken to determine how Thompson Rivers University could:
• raise awareness and understanding of the Student Academic Integrity Policy
• improve the reporting process
• encourage more faculty to identify and report violations

This case study will present the views of the Open Learning Faculty with regards to their views on the importance of reporting AI violations and also gives insights/strategies to encourage and build increased participation and support for the process.
