Abstract:
Covid 19 has changed the face of schooling in terms of its operation which includes teaching, learning, school management and leadership. Public schools in particular found themselves most affected by the pandemic as they could not cope with the needs required to access distance learning. On one hand it has exposed the challenges faced by public schools while it has also raised the expectations from these schools. Getting school business partnerships to work effectively is a challenge, believing that, school business partnerships are a force for good and can provide a wide range of opportunities for learners and schools. Clearly, more than never before, the traditional school business partnerships need to be rethought, reimagined and reinvented. It is during these times of crisis that school business partnerships need a strengthened networked capability.

This paper examines how team leadership, collaboration teams and innovation can enhance school developments for better school outcomes amid this new normal. The research has also been motivated by public schools experiencing the learning losses. The study used both qualitative and quantitative methods in the collection of data in three case studies of different contextual backgrounds. The mixed method has been appropriate for examining interventions to enhance both the internal and external.

The study found out that effective and successful business partnerships raise the expectations and the capacity within the institution to provide the tools to achieve the expectations as all parties work together creatively to find solutions mostly in disadvantaged public schools. The study has provided collaborative teams, team leadership and innovation to make learning more equitable and accessible.
