Abstract:
There are two very important things that can be said of “Change”, Change is an invariant in life and is one of the two certainties in people´s life. Change in information technologies is given at a high speed, these changes must reach and help transform education. "The interplay between technologies is creating unprecedented waves of disruptive innovation, which is forcing organizations to rethink everything and embrace a post-digital world filled with new risks and opportunities," Bill Briggs, a world leader in Deloitte Consulting. It is time to innovate in education and Pedagogical Robotics is an excellent alternative.
Andreas Schleicher, Education Secretary General of OECD, recommended some changes to the Mexican Educational System, which favors that school work take the student as center of the system, as center of activity. Where the student supported by school environment is the one that generate his own knowledge and the school program promotes creativity, ingenuity and diversity. Creating evaluations based on student leadership and outcomes.
In this paper after acknowledging that technological advances and changes should be used to improve education, as well as, to know and consider the OECD´s recommendations. We present the characteristics of XXI Century students, among the more important ones, is that we are talking about the "Net Generation", which are "always connected" and performing multiple tasks. They also Use and work with multimedia, text, sound, video, images, video, etc. Next, we present the XXI Century Association framework of the new skills, necessary for the new era. Which are grouped into three main groups. a) Information and Communication Skills b) Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Skills and c) Personal Productivity and Job Skills. Finally, we present results on several studies mainly at high school level, which report on several benefits that Robotics competitions have on the development of XXI Century Skills.
