Abstract:
Numerous dynamic changes in the world around us cause unprecedented challenges for higher education, whose main task is to educate future specialists. Competences that future university graduates should have are changing dynamically (European Principles for Enhancement of Learning & Teaching Project EFFECT, 2017).

This implies a strong demand for careful analysis of the content and methodology of academic education, as well as methods of supporting students in their learning process. What are the basic competences that future university graduates should be equipped with? What teaching methods should be used to ensure the quality of education for the future?

In this article I would like to present and discuss various methods of supporting university students in their learning process, in order to give them an opportunity to acquire skills necessary from the point of view of their future engineering profession.

This analysis will be immersed in the context of the quality of education, in their new sense taking into account current trends in higher education, and will be illustrated by the examples of good practices observed in the university of technology.
