Abstract:
Project management has become one of the most widely used tools for the development and delivery of unique products and services, which has spread across a huge number of enterprises. Project management is currently an important part of the business world and its implementation is planned or has already been implemented by many enterprises. One of the pillars of successful project management is also implemented risk management, the phase of which is risk treatment. The qualifications and experience of the project manager are the starting point for the success of the project. Appropriately, chosen training of project managers will increase the probability of project success.
The purpose of the article is to point out the importance of educating project managers in the field of risk management in projects and to assess the possibilities of managing risks in projects. At this stage, risk management measures are proposed to reduce the likelihood that the risk will occur and the intensity of the negative impact. The article also presents an assessment of the behaviour of project managers to ensure project activities in the business environment affected by the COVID 19 pandemic.
The main aim of the paper is to point out the importance of educating project managers in the field of risk management in projects. The authors of the article describe methods, procedures and plans for modifying the level of individual risks associated with the project.
The article used these methods: Qualitative and quantitative aspects of the researched problem, comparison and generalization of conclusions were processed through observation, analysis, comparison and synthesis, including several management methods for dealing with risks. Following the set goal, the methodology of the article was determined. The starting point will be the use of the results of empirical research, statistical surveys, comparative analysis and scientific methods for the analysis and synthesis of the obtained data. The authors of the article describe methods, procedures and plans for modifying the level of individual risks associated with the project.
Based on statistical surveys from Wellington Limited, which addressed the most frequently project management issues and the Ernst & Young project management survey in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, that insufficiently trained project managers form the most significant part of the project management problems in the enterprises.
The main value-added of the paper is the streamlining of the educational process in the field of risk management in projects. The paper describes the methods by which managers can change the level of individual risks. Assess the behaviour of project managers to ensure project activity in the business environment affected by the COVID 19 pandemic. The results presented could help owners and managers to invest in risk assessment training for projects, thereby reducing the likelihood of project failure in the current context of the COVID 19 pandemic.
