Abstract:
Flip-teaching is an innovative teaching methodology that is allowing to improve the efficiency of the learning-teaching process by reversing the traditional structure of the lessons. This methodology favors the emergence of new learning spaces in the classroom enhancing, meaningful learning, an effective reinforcement of knowledge and the interactions student-student and teacher-student along the process.
The commitment of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), and particularly of the School of Design Engineering (ETSID), to the excellence in engineering education allows us to actively introduce innovative methodologies in our classrooms. Thus, we have been experiencing the Flip-Teaching methodology in the subject ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY given in the Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering. The particularities of this subject allows us to enhance its program and methodologies easily in order to improve the efficiency of the learning-teaching process.
This paper focuses on the explanation of the Flip-Teaching experiences in this subject and particularly on the evaluation of the students’ perception on the academic results. The analysis of the experience lets us reach interesting conclusions reinforcing the usefulness and validity of this methodology in some of our lessons and matters.
