Abstract:
The staff of the Group of Electronic Development and Printed Sensors (GED+PS) at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) has been directing Final Degree Projects (FDP) for more than a decade. Most of these FDP have been developed by students of the different Engineering Degrees given in the Design Engineering School (ETSID) at this University. The acquired experiences in these years have allowed us to have a perspective on the obtained results in these projects. This study focuses on FDPs developed by those students who stayed in an enterprise with an internship contract. This kind of FDPs are a very interesting alternative to the traditional ones as they give our students the chance to have an experience in real companies, earn a little bit of money and improve their respective Curricula. In addition, they can be hired by these companies at the end of their practice stage if the experience has been successful and the enterprises want them to take part of their staff.

In this study, FDPs carried out in enterprises are reviewed and compared to those conducted without practice stages in companies. The results and discussion from the GED+PS staff and our students are very successful and they allow us to continue in this line, encouraging students to participate in these experiences and involving enterprises in the formation of Engineering Degrees Students, as they will become their future employees.
