Abstract:
The main goal of the study of protective factors of resilience carried out over a period of 20 years was to define protective factors for participants from the problematic environment of primary families in coping with stressful situations. The study was carried out with Czech and Slovak university teachers in the years 2002 to 2021 (number of participants: Czech Republic - 97, Slovakia - 27). The participants came from vulnerable primary families with the following risks: low solidarity between family members, weak bond between parents and participants, low tendency to communicate together, authoritative father control prevailed and lack of emotional support from parents in stressful situations. The study is designed as qualitative and longitudinal. Participants were selected on the basis of deliberate selection. Four interviews were conducted with each participant per year (further interviews were conducted for further information). There were a total of 9,920 interviews. Based on the interviews, case studies were prepared that provided more details on important protective factors supporting a resilient personality. The obtained data were analyzed using the program ATLAS.ti 9. The phenomenon of flow during coaching interviews with experts proved to be the most important protective factor.
