Abstract:
Educational software has become an important tool to enhance the learning of many types of students, to include undergraduate business students. This study looks at an online, web-based educational software that was used in an undergraduate business statistics course. The software consists of online homework problems that are automatically graded as well as an e-book. Students were given the option to purchase a hard copy text, which was not included in the price for the software and e-book. Preliminary results are shared from both an instructor and student perspective. Results of a student satisfaction survey are presented along with instructor feedback of the software. A preliminary comparison of test scores without the use of the software to scores with the software will also be presented. Results and learning points will be shared, and include some recommendations around the use of educational software for undergraduate business statistics courses.
